This half term, Petrin and Skylon class have been working with Winchester Science Centre as part of the Wonderseekers programme.
In our first session, we investigated which materials would be best for building a satellite. We tested things like cardboard, foil, plastic and more to see which were strong, lightweight, weather-resistant – and most importantly – heat resistant, just like real satellites need to be in space!
The children worked like real scientists: planning, predicting, testing and recording their findings. It was a brilliant start to the project, and we can’t wait to start building after Easter!
